Seeds running through my veins

Telling the system it’s not okay.

The walk of pathways

Sweet and thick

While envy yells “swallow.”

Tracks

We ride on unknown beings.

Stars cluster but they aren’t yellow.

Too strong to bear through smoke,

The light post signals one passageway

Until our tracks are only repeated.

I’ve been here before

But not with you.

Pathways cross but only during

Your absence.

Sweet were the days in grainy image

But now my eyes see plain gray.

“I like this one. I don’t know why you made the other one have a unibrow, and that one is just weird.”

“It is art, Honey. It’s not supposed to be pretty. It’s supposed to be interesting. You would not understand.”

How tragic it is that I am surrounded by books, but know I will never be able to read all that I could possibly enjoy.

Signs disagree with unresolved thoughts

As I expect these undated outcomes,

And I disguise who I left behind.

Like the dreadful medicinal visits,

My obstructions have been decided for me.

But I think I am the worst hindered soul.
